BUSINESS LICENSE ISSUED IN FUJAIRAH

A business license is required for company formation in Fujairah. In one of the following categories, business licenses can be issued within one working day:

GENERAL TRADING LICENSE

A general trading license is more expensive than other licenses because it allows investors to trade in a wide variety of products. It permits the free import, export, and re-export of certain commodities both within and outside the UAE. Furthermore, it enables investors to obtain special permission for local distribution from relevant government departments, allowing them to continue operating in a hassle-free manner.

TRADE COMMERCIAL LICENSE

This license can be used to trade specific products that are subject to the regulations of the license issuing authority.

SERVICE LICENCE

Accounting firms, law firms or individual practitioners, and business consultants are all required to have a service license.

INDUSTRIAL LICENSE

A license holder with an industrial license can import raw materials, manufacture specified products, and export finished goods to any country.

WAREHOUSING LICENSE

With a warehousing license, investors can rent warehousing facilities and use them for goods storage, packaging, and distribution.

MANUFACTURING LICENSE

After a project has been approved by a free zone authority, implemented, and fully insured for human resources and machinery, a manufacturing license can be obtained. Besides, support for a manufacturing license is contingent on:

  • Built-up area and open space of the project

  • Water, Electricity, and workforce supplies

  • Environmental aspects related to the project

PROCEDURE

The benefits of forming a business in Fujairah and its free zones are numerous. However, there are a few steps that must be followed to register a business in this Emirate. The procedure usually entails identifying your business activity, registering your company or trade name, submitting legal documents to the appropriate authorities, and applying for visas (if necessary).

It's also worth noting that the specifics of the business setup process are highly dependent on the types of licenses and permits sought, as well as the types of businesses to be established.

  1. Obtain Fujairah Municipality's primary approval for the name and activity.

  2. If your business is one-of-a-kind, you'll need permission from the relevant Ministry or Department.

  3. Make a Memorandum of Association for the company and have it notarized by the courts.

  4. Banks provide capital contribution certificates for cash shares, and auditors provide certificates for both cash and kind shares.

  5. To the Municipality, submit applications and preliminary approval, as well as a notarized copy of the Memorandum of Association, tenancy contract, capital certificate, and other documents.

  6. The trade name will be entered in the Commercial Register and its Memorandum of Association will be printed in the Ministry of Economy Bulletin after it has been examined by the permissible department. The license will then be issued by the municipality.
